2008 Awards banquet held 3/14/09. Featured keynote speaker was FDNY Lt. William Butler. Bill is currently assigned to Ladder 56 in the Bronx and has 15 years with FDNY. Bill is also a volunteer firefighter for over 30 yrs and is currently fire chief of the Greenville Twp. Fire & Rescue Department. Bill spoke of his survival of the the twin-towers collapse on 9/11 (as seen on NBC’s dateline) as well as his assignment with the FDNY’s task force to New Orleans post Katrina.
Congrats to the 2008 award winners: Utility = Rubie Burkert, Junior = Phillip Bleiler, Firefighter = Jeremy Emerick, Officer = Nick Readinger, EMS = Brian Young, Lifetime Achievement = Fleetwood Borough. Featured was a live video link to Iraq with firefighter Jeremy Emerick who is serving there with the National Guard.
