FVFC Live In Program |
|
Have you ever thought of living at a fire station? Have you ever wanted to be in the heart of a progressive, professional organization? Are you attending any of these local colleges (Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, Penn State University - Berks Campus, Albright College, Alvernia College, RACC) and still want to take part in the fire service? Then we want you! The Fleetwood Volunteer Fire Department runs roughly 360 calls a year and operates a 2004 American LaFrance 100’ Mid-Mount Tower (Tower 45), a 1996 Luverne Engine (Engine 45), a 1999 Amtech/Freightliner Heavy Rescue (Rescue 45) and a 1992 Chevy Pickup (Squad 45). We also run 2 Horton ambulances (536 & 537). We also house one of the Berks County Special Operations Group’s Hazardous Materials Foam trailers. The fire station itself is located at 16 North Chestnut Street which is roughly in the middle of all the colleges above. It is roughly 5-10 minutes from Kutztown University and about 15-20 minutes away from Alvernia, Albright, RACC and Penn State Berks. We are also located about 15 minutes away from Wal-Mart and about 20 minutes from the Berkshire and Fairgrounds Malls and the Broadcasting Square Shopping Plaza.
The Fleetwood Volunteer Fire Company has an active live-in program with 2 live-in positions currently available.
